Why I wrote this book
I wrote this book because I always enjoyed being read to and reading as a child. As I’ve grown up, I have not forgotten the magic of those stories and I greatly admire the vast array of children’s books that are available to today’s young readers.
I hope that children will get the same enjoyment from my book as I got from the stories that I read when I was a child. The eight stories are intended to take the reader on a literary journey through the year, so there’s a story to please the reader, whatever the season.
Synopsis
Embark on a magical journey through the year, with these eight enchanting tales - two for each season of the year.Read all about a lost teddy bear searching for his owner in a department store, an adventure-seeking crab, a fish with a wish, a teddy bear who gets lost in a forest, a pumpkin who has to do battle with a nasty witch, a sad leaf, a jealous penguin and a group of kind snowmen who help some villagers.
Features the story, The Brave Pumpkin, previously released as an e-book.
Reviews
By 21st century scribeThese heartwarming stories embrace all seasons of the year. They involve animals, people, nature and toys and feature reunion and adventure. The warm and gentle style in which they are written will be soothing to children. They are suitable for children in early Junior school and can be read to children slightly younger.
The feature story, the red scarf, highlights morals and the effect on others around the issues of jealousy and honesty. As well as having a happy and reassuring ending, as with the other stories in this book, it also embraces the message of forgiveness. Jealousy, honesty and forgiveness are all featured in a way that children will easily be able to relate to.
The original style of the illustrations adds to the feelgood factor of the stories, and the warmth and kindness that they portray.
