Why I wrote this book

I wrote the book because I was frustrated by seeing Christians who were spiritually oppressed being referred to secular professionals such as psychologists and psychiatrists instead of being ministered to and healed within the Church.

Why is it different? It’s different from other books in that it doesn’t just inform people what to do to live in freedom but also explains how to eradicate afflictions from their life so they can step into the fullness of their destiny.

Why should a reader buy it? This book provides answers to many of life’s perplexing questions that usually remain a mystery. As people read the book, the lights will go on for them on many topics. People will gain confidence and mastery over situations in life that in the past would have left them feeling helpless and afraid. They will be empowered to live life in the fullness of their capabilities.

Which three authors’ work would you compare your writing to?
No small snakes: A journey into spiritual warfare by Gordon Dalbey 2008
Breaking strongholds: How spiritual warfare sets captives free by Tom White 1993
Shattering your strongholds: Freedom from your struggles by Liberty Savard 1992

Synopsis

Close the Gates exposes how dark forces seek to devastate our lives by entering through spiritual ‘gates’ opened unwittingly by traumatic experiences or unwise choices. Many people wonder why they can’t live the kind of life they aspire to. Despite their best efforts at leading a good life, misfortunes still afflict them. Christians, just like anyone else, suffer mental or physical illnesses and sad events like marital breakdown, despite following the teachings of the Church.

In this new work, Jeff Reaney asserts that deceptive forces take advantage of family conflict, dysfunctional relationships, rejection and all kinds of abuse to manipulate our emotions and control our actions. He lifts the lid on ways spiritual predators use seemingly benign activities, past events, illnesses and even our thoughts to control and plunder our lives. Drawing on experience, this practical book explains the necessity of accepting personal responsibility, the power of forgiveness and the use of spiritual authority against these forces.  Learn how to evict these opportunistic predators by bringing closure to past mistakes and hurtful events, enjoy freedom and peace, and step into the fullness of your destiny.
