Synopsis
A man without a past and a woman without a future.
This is a story of friendship between a young musician, David, who has lost his memory in a car accident, and an older woman, Cathy, who is dying from Huntington's disease.
Both are, in Cathy's words, ‘marooned on an island of misunderstanding’, confined to Denby Hall, a pleasant, unconventional neurological nursing home near Brighton.
The home does not allow pets, so David takes it upon himself to help Cathy to see her dog occasionally. As David's efforts stir up trouble at the home, the nature of Cathy's relationships with those closest to her are revealed.
Caring for Cathy is a light-hearted look at the horrors of degenerative diseases and their effects on those who care.
