Why I wrote this book
I wrote these books because I have loved reading and writing ever since childhood and firmly believe that children can get a huge amount of pleasure from reading. Having taught English for a number of years I have tried to incorporate a good standard of grammar and vocabulary which hopefully will extend a young reader’s knowledge whilst giving them an enjoyable experience. It is huge fun to create a fantasy land of one’s own imagination.
I think these books will appeal to children who enjoyed Horrid Henry or Harry Potter.
Synopsis
The book is a sequel to “So you Want To Be A Space Alien.” In that first book, Zioc from planet Frogrondal, is dispatched to Earth to find a Calling Stone to repair a hole in King Regulat’s castle. “Zioc Saves His Planet” sets out what happens when Zioc returns with the stone.
The planet Frogrondal is temporarily governed who is old and ill and unable to make precise decisions. He has a family which are based on royal families to found in traditional fairy tales. When Zioc arrives back with the Calling Stone he finds that the castle is being invaded by strange creatures called Red Boults. Another nasty being called Corbus has also arrived to invade Frogrondal with his inept army of Suaves.
He manages to kidnap the queen and her two children, but with help of Zioc they make their escape and flee to the other side of the planet where they hope to find safety. They meet a number of adventures on the way and are also joined by the Menja bird who proves to be a great nuisance. Finally the family get transported to Earth and temporary safety.
The second part of the book starts with the arrival of the royal family on Earth and we meet some of the characters that featured in the first book. The three children who helped Zioc in the first book and their grandmother are inadvertently and unexpectedly whisked up to Frogrondal and there run into more danger from Corbus. The story ends with the royal family waiting in a garden to be taken back to Frogrondal where it is now thought to be safe.
