Why I wrote this book
I wrote these books because I have loved reading and writing ever since childhood and firmly believe that children can get a huge amount of pleasure from reading. Having taught English for a number of years I have tried to incorporate a good standard of grammar and vocabulary which hopefully will extend a young reader’s knowledge whilst giving them an enjoyable experience. It is huge fun to create a fantasy land of one’s own imagination.
I think these books will appeal to children who enjoyed Horrid Henry or Harry Potter.
Synopsis
When Charlotte chooses Joseph as her new cat, she knows he has style and charisma: being a Burmese, such things are inevitable. What she does not know is that he is no ordinary cat: in fact he is not a cat at all, but an extra terrestrial whose people made a mistake in thinking that cats were the most intelligent life form on Earth – hence his disguise.
Charlotte helps the alien, whose name is Zioc, to assume human form so that he can be a boy, or a cat, as the moment requires. She discovers that he has been sent to Earth to find and bring back an object known as the Calling Stone. However, he has been poorly briefed, as he has no idea where the Stone might be, what it looks like, or how it will help save his planet. All he knows is that he has one month to find it, and if he fails he and his people will be destroyed.
So begins a frustrating and clandestine hunt for the Stone which involves the local Primary School, a teacher and his mysterious sister.
