Why I wrote this book
In the first place it was my sister who suggested I write it as she thought the revolutionary social events of the 20th century ought to be recorded. Together we had often discussed how people had become less caring since they became ‘better off’. And, how their happiness seemed to be lacking even though their fortunes had improved tremendously. Because my empathy forged towards the children of the day, whose only concept of life was derived from the current social climate, I decided to take up the challenge as I too had views to express. I wanted to tell the children that life as they saw it is not life as it was meant to be. I wished to suggest to them that happiness cannot be bought, but can only be acquired through the self-worth we humans earn for ourselves. If for no other reason, readers should buy the book as a legacy for their children.
Synopsis
During the latter years of the 20th century the historically stoic, cheerful attitude of the British working classes changed through radical social improvements. They had been transformed from human beings with a purpose, to consumers with no other aim in life but to experience utopia. As it was thought that the human race had become a superior species because the cleverness of mankind had peaked over these years, this was considered now a right.
But, had the peak happened prematurely to lose the race many centuries of natural, slow evolution? Did mankind now own a tool that he didn’t know how to use for the good? Was his belief that it should be used to change the pattern or life to suit his own ends – regardless of the consequences? The 20th Century and then what? aims to re-kindle the lost belief that we are souls who come to Earth many times to seek perfection in human form. But, have to achieve this whilst living in a world intended to be imperfect.

I am a single parent and have also been a carer to family members for a large proportion of my life. My obsessions are thinking and seeking truth and, for many many years, have studied psychology, philosophy and life itself, to feed my curiosity in these directions.
