Gill Jepson
Gill Jepson works as a teacher and children’s author. She is passionate about learning and loves her role as an educator. She was born and lives in Barrow-in Furness, near the Lake District, moving back after spending twelve years in London. She is married and she has three grown up children and one young grandson.
She has always written for her own pleasure and is an avid reader of historical and fantasy fiction. Her abiding passion is history; especially local and family history. She has previously had articles published and wrote a history of the school where she taught. Out of Time :The Secret of the Swan was her debut children’s fantasy novel and is the first of four stories set in the Furness area. Raven’s Hoard is the second in the series, following a parallel tale, set at the same point in time as the first. Her young children’s story book “Guy the Grumpy Gargoyle”is due out on 1st August 2012.
Gill Jepson is a member of the National Association of Writers in Education. Gill is a teacher with many years experience. She is committed to encouraging children's reading and writing and is able to use her skills to provide workshops and book events for schools.
Gill has been inspired by a variety of authors, including Alan Garner, C.J. Sansom and Barbara Erskine.
