Lynne Tapper
Lynne Tapper has always been a storyteller. She spent 11 years as an Early Childhood Educator in Vancouver, working with young inner-city children and using storytelling to entertain them and promote learning. After gaining a degree in Communications, Lynne moved into the training and personal advice field, where she has worked for the last 10 years in the UK.
Following a series of personal tragedies, including the break-up of her relationship and her brother’s severe cancer, Lynne found herself questioning her life’s choices and turned to writing as a form of self-discovery. Through reflecting on her experiences, she realised that many people focus all their energy in trying to make others love them, and in doing so, forget to love themselves. Building on this, Lynne created a story about a ‘people pleasing’ princess, believing this theme would resonate with many readers.
Inspired by her childhood love of fairy tales, such as Gulliver’s Travels and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince, Lynne wanted to write books that were both entertaining and throught provoking, full of observations of life, which would appeal to readers of all ages.
‘Perhaps the popularity of fairy tales shows that we are all children at heart, and that a return to simplicity is the order of the day,’ says Lynne. 'Stories remind us that every day can be a new chapter in life!’
Lynne currently lives between London and Vancouver working as an author and motivational trainer.
